Ethics, honesty and sustainability have always been central to every aspect of our work and form an integral part of our company culture.
In a continuous quest for a better future, Stosa has implemented a series of important strategies targeting environmental sustainability in all activities and processes. Stosa invests heavily in energy efficiency and waste reduction and selects only environmentally friendly materials, including wood from responsibly managed forests that is fully traceable and respects the strictest standards.
FSC® CERTIFICATION
For over 10 years, Stosa Cucine has been applying a strict quality control protocol, implementing actions aimed at improving production and using specific criteria to carefully select suppliers. Stosa pays the greatest attention to the impact that manufacturing processes can have on the environment.
This has resulted in a decision to create and form part of a complete production chain that places similar emphasis on environmental sustainability as something essential to ethical manufacturing.
In 2012 Stosa Cucine joined the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certification project. Today, we have achieved the goal of offering customers products that are made from certified materials. These range from Art, the first line to be prototyped and marketed, to Karma and Metropolis.
However, Stosa Cucine remains committed to further improving supply networks and production lines to convert, as soon as possible, all models in the range into furniture made from certified wood from a supply chain that supports responsible forest management, with no increase in price to customers.
Stosa Cucine’s commitment has been acknowledged by FSC who, at the FSC® Italia Awards_Furniture, presented us with an award in the 2020 Interior Furniture_Kitchens category for having produced the first industrially manufactured kitchen consisting of FSC certified cabinets.
In 2021, Stosa received a Special Prize for communication at the first European edition of the FSC® Furniture Awards, for having supported FSC® values through digital, social and television communication strategies that actively promoted the contents of this important certification.
Stosa Cucine is committed to the re-engineering of design and production, and to significant further investments. Costs for these processes will be absorbed by the company without any price increase to customers.
Stosa Cucine’s other Green certificates
Carb P2
All Stosa kitchen units are made from CARB P2 certified materials. Carcasses are made from recyclable panels with extremely low formaldehyde content.
Formaldehyde is used to produce many adhesives and resins and over time it can release gas molecules into the environment that may be harmful to man at high concentrations.
CARB (California Air Resource Board) certification is based on Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) rules, the purpose of which is to reduce and control formaldehyde emissions from wood-based materials used within the territory of California.
CARB certification has been used as a reference standard by major multinational companies in the wooden furniture sector. It confirms Stosa’s dedication to environmental protection and conviction that design and innovation demand the selection of raw materials which combine ethical recycling with respect for the environment.

Ecologically sustainable packaging
Starting in 2016, Stosa Cucine began a virtuous journey to reduce the use of plastic in furniture packaging.
Today, our packing is based on cardboard boxes sealed with paper tape and cardboard corner guards.
A significant investment was made to convert packaging systems and permit the change to a new concept in protective furniture packaging. New machinery includes automatic taping machines that seal the flaps. A continuous automatic line has been installed to reduce waste to a minimum.
Currently, our packaging is 98% cardboard.
Thanks to these developments, in recent years Stosa Cucine has reduced its plastic consumption by 52,800 Kg/year.
Photovoltaic system
Sustainability means energy saving too. With this in mind, Stosa Cucine has installed a 1.5 MW photovoltaic system to make production sustainable and ensure extremely low CO2 emissions. We are front runners in “energy transition”.
Stosa Green Park
We have planned major investments in advanced production machinery in accordance with an industrial development plan due to be completed by 2025, and have already purchased land to permit the expansion of our production facilities. New factory buildings will house 27,000 m2 of production lines dedicated to Stosa’s premium products and will require the reclamation of a vast area around the current plant.
In parallel with developments in products and internal logistics aimed at improving sustainability, this project, designated “Stosa Green Park”, will see the construction of a production site with excellent road access and green areas, harmoniously integrated into nature and the surrounding landscape.
The total renovation of the industrial area concerned will respect the environment and the local community and ensure consistency between the values and objectives we pursue and those we effectively demonstrate.
